UNESCO Associated Schools work together to carry out model projects dedicated to international understanding and transformative learning in keeping with the Global Sustainability Goals. To this end, the network focuses its efforts in promoting education in democracy and human rights, sustainable development, global citizenship, world heritage and culture.

The innovative potential of UNESCO Associated Schools for the academic landscape is driven by a wide range of partnerships with non-scholastic partners and anchoring the “Whole School Approach” at the local level. In this regard, UNESCO Associated Schools are both active participants and drivers of transformation in line with the global Sustainable Development Goals.
