Open Educational Resources are teaching, learning or research materials that are in the public domain or released with an intellectual property license that allows for free use, adaptation, and distribution. This open license permits authors to choose freely which rights they want to grant users.

 OER include individual material, course material, Videos, pod-casts or complete books. Any medium can be used to create OER. Curricula, class materials, textbooks, streaming videos, multimedia applications, podcasts - all these resources are OER when released under an open license.
