Dieses Handbuch ermöglicht es in der Journalismusausbildung Tätigen weltweit, sich mit einer der Herausforderungen des 21. Jahrhunderts auseinanderzusetzen - Migration und Zwangsvertreibung. In einer Reihe von dreizehn Modulen wird Lehrenden ein umfassender Lehrplan an die Hand gegeben. Das Handbuch deckt alle Aspekte ab, die benötigt werden, um Analyse, Recherche, Präsentation, Marketing und Ethik der Migrationsberichterstattung zu trainieren.

Das bundesweite Verzeichnis des immateriellen Kulturerbes ist eine Bestandsaufnahme, welche lebendigen Traditionen in Deutschland praktiziert werden. Für eine Aufnahme in das Verzeichnis müssen kulturelle Ausdrucksformen die Kriterien erfüllen, die das UNESCO-Übereinkommen von 2003 festlegt. Dazu gehören eine nachweisbare Lebendigkeit und eine identitätsstiftende Komponente für die Trägergemeinschaft. Die Weitergabe von Wissen und Können, eine kreative Weiterentwicklung, freier Zugang zu der Tradition sowie eine Einbindung der gesamten Gemeinschaft sind weitere wichtige Kriterien. Im bundesweiten Verzeichnis des immateriellen Kulturerbes befinden sich derzeit 126 Einträge. In den kommenden Jahren wird das Verzeichnis kontinuierlich erweitert.

Demokratiebildung bildet einen der zentralen Ansätze der UNESCO-Projektschulen, die sich auf vielfältige Weise für eine diverse, gerechte und demokratische Gesellschaft einsetzen. Diese Publikation bündelt Beispiele ihrer schulischen Praxis der vergangenen zwei Jahre. Die einzelnen Impulse werden dabei mit ihren Schnittstellen – zum Beispiel im Kontext der Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung, des digitalen Lernens oder der kulturellen Bildung – vorgestellt und liefern zahlreiche Anregungen zum Mitmachen, Vernetzen und Nachdenken. Gerahmt werden diese u. a. durch ein Grußwort der Präsidentin der Kultusministerkonferenz, Auszüge zentraler Texte und Interviews mit Bildungsexpertinnen und -experten.

Der Jahresbericht 2020 informiert über die Aktivitäten des UNESCO-Instituts für Lebenslanges Lernen in Hamburg. Zu den Themen zählen: Das UNESCO Global Network for Learning Cities, die Global Alliance for Literacy within the framework of lifelong learning sowie der 5. Weltbericht zur Erwachsenenbildung.

Sonderprogramm für UNESCO-Stätten in Afrika in Zeiten der Covid-19-Pandemie

Mit dem Sonderprogramm #SOSAfricanHeritage unterstützte die Deutsche UNESCO-Kommission 2020 insgesamt 22 UNESCO-Stätten in Afrika bei der Bewältigung von direkten Auswirkungen der Covid-19-Pandemie. Die Ergebnispublikation bietet einen Einblick in die Vielfalt der Projekte, deren Umsetzung und Wirkung.
